Youth Safety Policy
Effective date: September 13, 2026
Junior golfers deserve a safe way to find playing partners. This policy explains the protections that apply automatically to every Par’d Up user aged 13–17 (“Youth Mode”). Youth Mode cannot be disabled by the teen or by anyone else.
13+ only, no exceptions
- Par’d Up requires a date of birth at signup and does not allow accounts for anyone under 13.
- Signups indicating an age under 13 are rejected. Accounts discovered to belong to under-13 users are terminated and their data deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.
- Misrepresenting a minor’s age is a violation of our Terms of Service.
Extra privacy for teens
- Teen profiles are hidden from adults, and adults cannot find teens in discovery.
- Teen profiles have stricter defaults than adult profiles across discovery, messaging, posts, and rounds.
- These protections are set by Par’d Up and cannot be switched off from the app.
No exact age display
A teen’s exact age and date of birth are never shown to other users: not on their profile, in discovery, on the game board, or in chats.
No exact location display
Teen profiles show region and city only. If a teen allows location access, it is used only to sort nearby courses and rounds, and it is never saved or shown to anyone. Attempts by any user to obtain a minor’s address or precise location are treated as serious violations.
Message moderation
- All messages on Par’d Up pass through automated moderation; conversations involving teen accounts run at heightened sensitivity.
- Message requests from golfers a teen has not connected with are turned off for teen accounts.
- Content indicating grooming, solicitation, or any sexual interest in a minor is blocked, escalated to human review immediately, and reported to authorities where required by law.
Reporting and blocking
Report and block controls appear on every profile, post, comment, story, message, and round. Reports involving a minor are prioritized in the moderation queue. Blocking is immediate and removes the blocked user from the teen’s entire experience.
Content removal requests
A teen can delete their own posts, comments, stories, messages, and rounds in the app at any time. A minor (or their parent or guardian) may also request removal of content the minor posted through the Delete My Data page (choose “Minor content removal”) or by emailing pardupgolf@gmail.com. These requests are handled with priority.
Parent and guardian contact path
- Teens may add an optional parent or guardian email in their safety settings.
- Parents and guardians can reach us any time at pardupgolf@gmail.com; put “youth safety” in the subject line for prioritized handling.
- Guardians may ask us to review a teen’s account status, request content removal, or request account deletion with appropriate verification.
Advertising to teens
Ads are never chosen based on a teen’s behavior, identity, or history, and we never sell or share minors’ personal information. Every sponsored card must be suitable for a 13+ audience. See the Advertising Policy.
